A Little About Me…

Hey, I’m Jeff Cunningham — a multidisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia. I work across painting, graphic design, and illustration, often blending them together to explore themes like disconnection, liminality, and the weird in the everyday.

A lot of my inspiration comes from surrealists like Remedios Varo and René Magritte, mixed with the storytelling of illustrators like Norman Rockwell and J.C. Leyendecker. I’m also drawn to the playful energy of comic artists like Jamie Hewlett and Bill Watterson. That combo of surreal and narrative really shapes how I approach my work — using bold lines, moody color palettes, and dreamlike imagery to question how we see the world around us.

I studied at the Creative and Performing Arts High School and the University of the Arts, and over the years, I’ve had the chance to show my work in a bunch of group exhibitions around Philly. For me, art is about creating a space where people can pause, reflect, and maybe see something familiar in a totally new way.

Thanks for checking out my work — glad you’re here.
